Look what's coming, and it's not Santy Craws:
For my readers (I thank you, both of you) from the south and other lovely places that don't experience winter in it's full fury, that blue color represents snow. Lots of snow. The green is rain of course, and the pink stuff is a mix of pure hell. I, apparently, live just north of hell.
We have 10"-18" of whiteshit expected. Followed by strong winds to blow the whiteshit into drifts and just make a bigger mess of things, followed by frigid cold temps to freeze the whiteshit drifts in to place.

I can't imagine that much snow...would never survive it!
One year we had eighteen inches. It brought things to a complete halt. The county was not equipped to handle it.
Outside, now, it is raining, but they say it will change.
Stay warm and stay safe.
Does this make you wish you had more stalls? Or do you only have three horses on the place now? Or are you using the indoor as shelter?
Weather reports like these make me question my own sanity as I look forward to moving back to Minnesota some day!
We're going to get the storm here in Ohio, too, but it won't be as bad.... I hope!
It's being to look like Christmas!
I walked up the the mail box this AM, yep, we have drifts. If I want to go anywhere I will have to put the truck in 4X4
SP: Our 3 boys and the donkey are comfortable under their 12' x 50' lean to off the back of the shed. We've got the 3 stalls in the barn, plus another huge stall in the shed. I'll may bring them in tonite, but it's not going to be that cold. They'll prolly spend a fair amount of time in stalls when the cold and wind arrive. The snow is just a nuisance. The cold and the wind are the killers.
Snow? Bah, humbug I say. It's only picturesque from inside looking out, not when you have to be out in it.
Could you explain the blue again? I'm not quite sure what you mean... snow? Hehe!
We're supposed to be pretty figid ourselves next week... high temps only in the upper 30's, with some sunshine and a little bit of rain here and there.
Hope you and the ponies stay warm!!
Weird day. Snowed steadily until about 3, then stopped and kinda cleared up. Prolly got 5". No big deal... Then at 5 the wind took off and it really started to snow. The temps aren't bad (27), but it's blowing hard. Everyone's all tucked in, including the cats. We'll worry about how big the drifts are tomorrow.
Yikes!!!!!!!
Merry Ho Ho! If we got that much snow the whole town would shut down.
Ok. This post made me laugh from beginning to end. You are FUNNY! Not that I'm laughing at your misery, mind you - I can't even imagine a snow storm of this caliber hitting us in "temperate" (read: flooding currently) Oregon.
Take care, batten down, hang on and stay warm! (Thanks for the laugh, too!)
I LOVE HORSES that pony is so cute all dressed up!
